Purpose

To recognize outstanding reporting or programming on network television, cable television or in a documentary film, concerned with American history, the study of American history, and/or the promotion of history.

Application procedure

Applicants should visit the website for complete application requirements. There is no standard application form and no application fee. Companies are encouraged to enter one or more films in the competition.

Organization of American Historians (OAH)

The Organization of American Historians (OAH) was founded in 1907 as the Mississippi Valley Historical Association and originally focused on the history of the Mississippi Valley. Now, national in scope and with approx. 11,000 members and subscribers, it is a large professional organization created and sustained for the investigation, study and teaching of American history.
