Summerfield G Roberts Award
Awarded by Sons of the Republic of Texas
To encourage literary effort and research about historical events and personalities during the days of the Republic of Texas 1836-1846, and to stimulate interest in the period.
The award was made possible through the generosity of Mr and Mrs Summerfield G Roberts.
Open to all writers.
Manuscripts must be written or published during the calendar year for which the award is given. There is no word limit. No entry may be submitted more than one time. The manuscripts must be mailed (5 copies, for the use of the judges) to the General Office of the Sons of the Republic of Texas.
Sons of the Republic of Texas seeks to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who settled Texas and won its independence through great personal sacrifice and dedication to the cause of freedom.
