Dairy Student Recognition Program Award

Purpose

To recognize graduating seniors planning a career related to dairy who have demonstrated leadership skills, academic ability and interest in dairy cattle.

The total number of awards will be determined by the number and quality of applicants. Winners will be recognized at the National Dairy Shrine awards banquet.

Eligibility

Only two applicants per college or university are accepted for this contest in any given year.

1st $2,000; 2nd $1,500; 3rd–9th $1,000

Application procedure

Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from the department head or a faculty member who is familiar with the applicant's activities and academic achievements and an official transcript showing all courses along with the application form. Applicants must complete a form for the scholarship. Forms available at external link.

Founded in 1949 by a small group of visionary dairy leaders, National Dairy Shrine brings together dairy producers, scientists, students, educators, marketers and others who share a desire to preserve the dairy heritage and keep the dairy industry strong by encouraging students to get included in dairy related studies.
