Purpose
To encourage and enable students to pursue their studies at the Master's and doctoral levels and enhance the recipients research abilities.
Scholars must assist with teaching and/or research duties up to a maximum of 6 hours per week in their department of study, without additional remuneration. Awards are for full-time study in attendance at Rhodes University only.
Eligibility
Open to students with the appropriate qualifications. Academic merit will override eligibility criteria.

South African Rand 40,000 for Master's levels and Rand 60,000 for doctoral levels
Application procedure
Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae and a full academic record and a covering letter indicating degree and subject to be studied.
