GSA Research Grants
Awarded by Geological Society of America (GSA)
To provide partial support for Master's and doctoral thesis research.
Grants are awarded on the basis of the scientific merits of the problem, the capability of the investigator and the feasibility of the budget, and as an aid to a research project, not to sustain the entire cost. Students may receive the award once at the Master’s level and once at the PhD level.
Open to students attending colleges and universities within the United States of America, Canada, Mexico and Central America. Applicants must be members of the GSA in order to apply.

GSA's Penrose and Pardee endowments, the National Science Foundation, industry, individual GSA members through the GEOSTAR and Research Grants funds, and numerous dedicated research funds that have been endowed at the GSA Foundation by members
Established in 1888, the GSA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the science of geology. GSA membership is for the generalist and the specialist in the field of geology and offers something for everyone.
