Eli Lilly and Company-Elanco Research Award
Awarded by American Society for Microbiology (ASM)
To reward fundamental research of unusual merit in microbiology or immunology by an individual on the threshold of his/her career, who has not reached his/her 45th birthday.
ASM awards are granted at the discretion of award selection committees and may not be awarded every year.
Nominees must be working in the United States of America or Canada at the time of application and must be actively involved in the line of research for which the award is to be made. They must not have reached their 45th birthday by April 30th of the year the award is given.
US$5,000 cash prize, a commemorative piece and travel expenses to the ASM General Meeting where the winner will present the Eli Lilly and Company-Elanco Research Award lecture.
Self-nominations will not be accepted. Nominations must consist of a nominating form that includes a specific description of the research on which the nomination is based, verification of the date of birth, i.e. a photocopy of driver's licence, passport or birth certificate, a curriculum vitae including a list of publications and two additional supporting forms. Only one of the three individuals involved in the nomination may be employed at the nominee's institution. Forms are located at external link.
