Akademie Schloss Solitude Fellowships
Awarded by Akademie Schloss Solitude
To promote young gifted artists, scholars, scientists and professionals.
The Akademie offers 45 studios to fellows and guests. It operates in the intermediary space between private and public; where art is reflected upon and produced but where it also finds a connection to the public. The Akademie places particular value on offering its guests another quality of time – one that is better than the artists would experience in their daily lives. A residence in a place like Solitude should therefore be understood as an investment in the future; an investment that, for both the participating artists and the institutions, may bear fruit much later.|The wide-reaching program of events (performances, readings, concerts and exhibitions and symposias) organized each year by the Akademie (approx. 80–100 events, most of them public) is devoted exclusively to the works of the Akademie's guests and fellows.
Fellowships are awarded to artists, emerging scholars, scientists and professionals, who are not older than 35 or who have finished their basic studies not more than 5 years before applying to Akademie Schloss Solitude. Currently enrolled university or college students (at the time of application) will not be considered for selection. Several fellowships are also awarded regardless of the applicant's age.

The independent jury consists of a jury chairperson and generally ten specialist jurors who independently allocate the fellowships for their respective disciplines.
