Awarded by American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS)
To assist graduates in the last year of their PhD dissertation writing.
Open to a PhD candidate in a humanities or social science department in an American University. Applicant should not be in the degree programme for more than 6 years and the successful candidates cannot hold this fellowship after the 7th year.
US$25,000, plus funds for research costs of up to $3,000 and for university fees of up to $5,000.
