AISLS Dissertation Planning Grant
To fund students enrolled at an American university who intend to do dissertation research in Sri Lanka, to be able to make a predissertation visit to Sri Lanka and investigate the feasibility of their topic, sharpen their research design or make other practical arrangements for future research.
Submissions by fax or email will not be accepted.|The country of study is Sri Lanka.
Open to candidates enrolled in a PhD programme (or equivalent) in a university in the US.
US$390 per week and reimbursement for roundtrip airfare and any visa fees paid to the Sri Lankan government
Applicants can download the application cover sheet from the website. The completed application cover sheet along with curriculam vitae, a copy of graduate transcript, a project narrative, one-page project bibliography and confidential letter of recommendation is to be sent.
American Institute for Sri Lankan Studies
The American Institute for Sri Lankan Studies (AISLS) was established in 1995, to foster excellence in American research and teaching on Sri Lanka, and to promote the exchange of scholars and scholarly information between the US and Sri Lanka. The Institute serves as the professional association for US-based scholars and other professionals who are interested in Sri Lanka.
