Library Resident Research Fellowships
Awarded by American Philosophical Society
Purpose
To support research in the American Philosophical Society library's collections.
Comprehensive, researchable guides and finding aids to the society's collection are available online at external link(check catalogs and guides). Applicants are strongly encouraged to consult the library staff by mail or phone regarding the collections. A list of these guides and further information can be found on the website or by contacting the American Philosophical Society Library. Awards are taxable income, but the Society is not required to report payments.
Eligibility
Scholars who reside beyond a 75-mile radius of Philadelphia will be given some preference. The fellowships are open to both citizens of the United States of America and foreign nationals who are holders of a PhD or equivalent, PhD candidates who have passed their preliminary exams and independent scholars. Applicants in any relevant field of scholarship may apply.
