Purpose

To promote the extended and complementary use of the British Library's book and cartographic collections in historical investigation.

The award honours the memory of Dr Helen Wallis, OBE (1924-1995), Map Librarian at the British Museum and then the British Library between the years 1967-1986. Further information can be found on the website.
