To assist in the undertaking, completion or publication of work that relates to any of the general scholarly purposes of the Roman Society.
Grants for the organization of conferences or colloquia and symposia will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
Open to applicants of graduate, postgraduate or postdoctoral status or the equivalent, usually of United Kingdom nationality.
Varies, but usually UK £200-1,500
Applicants must ensure that two references are sent directly to the Society. Completion of an application form is essential.
The Society for the Promotion of Roman Studies aims to promote the study of history, architecture, archaeology, language, literature and the art of Italy and the Roman Empire, including Roman Britain, from the earliest times to about 700 AD.
