Association for Women in Science Educational Foundation Predoctoral Awards

Purpose

To promote the participation of women in engineering and the sciences.

Winners are notified by email in June and announced publicly in the Autumn issue of the AWIS Magazine.

Eligibility

Open to female students enrolled in any life, physical, behavioural or social science or engineering programme leading to a PhD degree. Applicant must have passed the departmental qualifying exam and except to complete the PhD within two-and-one-half years, at the time of application.

Application procedure

Applicants must submit an application including a basic form, a five-page summary of the candidate's dissertation research, two recommendation report forms and official transcripts of all coursework conducted at postsecondary institutions. Forms are available on the website.
