Open to established scholars normally in a post at a United Kingdom university. Applicants must be British or Commonwealth citizens, or must be studying or have studied at postgaduate level in a higher education institution in the UK, having completed not less than four years of residence in the UK; or must hold a post in a higher education institution in the UK.

The British School at Rome (BSR) is an interdisciplinary research centre for the humanities, visual arts and architecture. Each year, the School offers a range of awards in its principal fields of interest.
