International Reading Association Teacher as Researcher Grant


To support classroom teachers in their enquiries about literacy learning and instruction.

All applicants must be members of the International Reading Association and practicing pre-K-12 teachers with full-time teaching responsibilities, including librarians, classroom teachers and resource teachers. Applicants are limited to one proposal per year. There must be a span of 3 years before past grant recipients can apply for another Teacher as Researcher Grant.

Up to US$4,000 maximum, but priority is given to smaller grants of between US$1,000 and 2,000

The International Reading Association seeks to promote high levels of literacy for all by improving the quality of reading instruction through studying the reading processes and teaching techniques, serving as a clearing house for the dissemination of reading research through conferences, journals and other publications and actively encouraging the lifetime reading habit.
