ASBAH Research Grant

Purpose

To support research in an area directly related to spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, and to explore ways of improving the quality of life for people with these conditions through medical, scientific, educational and social research.

Award subjects: biology and life sciences; economics; medicine and surgery; social sciences; teacher training and education; theology and religious studies.

Application procedure

Applicants must make an initial enquiry to the Chief Executive. If the proposed research is considered to be interesting, the applicant will be asked to complete an application form. Applications must be submitted on time to the committees, which meet in February and September to October.

Shine is a registered charity, which was formed in 1966, initially to help families and individuals affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Today, Shine is a community of 75,000 individuals, families, friends, and professionals, sharing achievements, challenges and information on living with hydrocephalus, or spina bifida, and related issues. Working together throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, we strive to overcome challenges and achieve the best for you and your family.
