Purpose

To improve the scholarly understanding of Bangladesh culture and society in the United States.

Eligibility

Open to citizens of the United States. Senior Fellowships are available to applicants who have obtained a PhD. Junior Fellowships are available to applicants who are ABD. Pre-dissertation Fellowships are available to PhD students who have completed at least one year of graduate study.

US$1,000 per month and other benefits

The American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) is a consortium of US universities and colleges involved in research on Bangladesh. It strives to improve the scholarly understanding of Bangladesh culture and society in US and to promote educational exchange between the two countries.
