To improve contacts and interrelationships within the historical profession where an increasing number of history-trained scholars hold distinguished positions in governmental agencies.

Eligibility

Applicant must have been employed in a government position for at least five years.

Organization of American Historians (OAH)

The Organization of American Historians (OAH) was founded in 1907 as the Mississippi Valley Historical Association and originally focused on the history of the Mississippi Valley. Now, national in scope and with approx. 11,000 members and subscribers, it is a large professional organization created and sustained for the investigation, study and teaching of American history.
