Alicia Patterson Journalism Fellowships

Purpose

To give working print journalists, a chance to spend a year researching and writing on a topic of their choosing.

Eligibility

Open to print journalists, e.g. reporters, editors, photographers with at least 5 years of full-time professional experience and who are citizens of the United States of the America.

Award Value

The fellowship stipend is $40,000 for 12 months and $20,000 for 6 months and must cover your travel and research costs

Application procedure

Candidates must use the Alicia Patterson Foundation application form and are also required to submit a three-page proposal, a two-page autobiographical essay, three clips, four letters of reference and a budget.

Alicia Patterson Foundation

The Alicia Patterson Foundation gives grants to professional print reporters and photojournalists to investigate a subject of their choice. Their reports are published in a quarterly magazine, the Alicia Patterson Foundation Reporter, and on the Foundation's website.
