William F Miller, MD Postgraduate Education Recognition Award
Awarded by American Association for Respiratory Care
To assist a professional therapist pursuing postgraduate education which will lead to an advanced degree.
Must be a respiratory therapist who has at least a Baccalaureate degree with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent. If no Baccalaureate degree, then a letter of matriculation from a graduate program and an undergraduate transcript will suffice. Up to US$1,500 plus airfare, certificate of recognition, one night's lodging and registration for the AARC International Respiratory Congress.
Candidates must return a completed, signed and notarized application form, provide three letters of reference attesting to the candidate's character, academic ability and professional commitment and supply an essay of at least 1,200 words. This must describe how the award will assist the candidate in reaching the objective of an advanced degree and the candidate's ultimate goals of leadership in healthcare.
